Diane opened the door, and there he was wearing a tuxedo."I take it back. There ARE girls that make guys want to do ridiculous things for," Ken said as he reached into his pocket and put on bunny ears from Diane's Halloween costume last year. "You're ridiculous!" she laughed as her eyes filled with happy tears. "You don't know how ridiculous yet," he answered as he got down on one knee and pulled out a ring. "Will you?" Too overwhelmed to speak, she nodded yes. He stood, placed the ring on her finger, and then he kissed her. He touched her face and looked down at her. The busy street in the background faded from her thoughts. "You need someone who will love you for who you are," he said. "Even if I'm kind of strange sometimes?" "No," he answered--his face stern and serious. She looked at him questioningly. "BECAUSE you're kind of strange sometimes," he answered, and then he kissed her. "I have no idea why I followed you here in the first place," Celeste said as she grabbed a sword and thrust it into an attacking pirate. "You're going to have to follow me some more," he said. She turned and saw that he had just set fire to the deck. "Where to?" she asked. "Up and over," he answered grabbing her hand and pulling her over the side of the boat. The two splashed down into the cold ocean. "We're miles from shore! We're going to drown out here," she yelled at him. "At least we'll be together," he answered. He smiled at her and pushed her wet hair out of her eyes. "That's hardly consolation," she said annoyed that they were in yet another horrible mess and that she still found him charming. "Well, then, maybe the fact that I've arranged for a ride will be more of a consolation," he said as he motioned to a luxury yacht sailing toward them. "Maybe, it is." "Maybe I'll just have to work harder to console you," he said, and then he kissed her.
